For the second year in a row, Ole Miss volleyball senior Aubrey Edie has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

The Fayetteville, Arkansas native is one of six selections to the first team and one of two from the SEC to be named to one of the three teams. Edie is also one of five student-athletes to repeat as Academic All-America honorees, after earning third-team honors in 2015.

“It’s a great day for Ole Miss volleyball and especially Aubrey,” head coach Steven McRoberts said. “It just shows how special she is to one day be named all-region and two days later she is an academic all-American. Aubrey figured out how to be successful both on and off the court.

To be eligible for Academic All-America® consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00 and have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at her current institution.

Edie boasts a 3.97 grade point average in elementary education.

Directing the offensive attack for the Rebels, Edie set the career-record at Ole Miss with 4,834 assists, which ranks fourth in the NCAA in active career assists. She ranks fifth in the SEC in assists per set and paved the way for the Rebels to have two hitters among the top 10 in the SEC and two players in the top 10 in kills and points per set. Edie earned AVCA All-South Region honors Tuesday.

Edie, who earned CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team honors for the third consecutive year earlier this fall, is a three-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll and will graduate in May. She has made the Chancellor’s Honor Roll every semester and has been named to the SEC Community Service Team twice.

With her selection this year, Edie became the first two-time CoSIDA Academic All-America honoree in program history and the first player to be named to the first team.
