Holli’s Sweet Tooth has become an Oxford institution. So when former owner Holli Ratcliffe announced that she would be closing her popular sweet shop on Lamar Boulevard, the collective disappointment was palpable.

Four former customers decided that they weren’t ready to see the last of Holli’s Sweet Tooth, and promptly contacted Ratcliffe to see if they could continue what she had started. Ratcliffe agreed to let Jason and Cathy Lowe (Cathy owns Belles & Beaus) and husband-and-wife team Brad and Meghan Feltenstein, take over the business.

Meghan, after 11 years as the WIN Job Center’s GED instructor, volunteered to run the day-to-day operations of the new Holli’s, leaving her job and taking a leap of faith as an entrepreneur.

Meghan said she’s looking forward to the opportunity to meet new people and see old friends come into the new shop.

“I’m not really one to go for change, but being in a fun, new environment really excites me,” she said. “My heart has always thrived on serving, and now I’ll still be able to serve others, just in a different capacity.”

Since Holli’s couldn’t stay in its current location, the new owners set out to find a new spot, all agreeing that it needed to be on the Square to provide easy access for students.

After considering two other locations, the team settled on one they’re really excited about in the breezeway between The Oxford Growler and High Point, in the former location of Zōe (once Zōe moves to the former location of Nest).

“We looked at a couple of locations, but I think this one is perfect with the breezeway and all of the free parking in the back,” said Meghan. “We can also put some seating out front and the kids will be away from the busy street.”

With a projected opening date of mid-June, Meghan assured us that everything Oxford has come to love about Holli’s will stay the same.

“Holli and Theresa have been a blessing in helping me with all of the details to get things going,” Meghan said. “They even helped me place my first orders, so we can carry all of the same candies, Blue Bell ice cream and Sugaree’s bakery items.” Meghan said there will even be a couple of new surprises she’s keeping under wraps until they open.

“We’ve gotten a lot of questions about what will change, but I want everyone to know that we’re dedicated to keeping all of the offerings the same,” Meghan said. “All of your favorites will still be here when we open in June.”
