Not all of us are fortunate enough to have a significant other on Valentine’s Day, but all that means is you get to have a great night with some of your best friends instead. Whether you have a significant other, a best friend or both, here is a list of everything you need to have an incredible Valentine’s Day with whoever you love.
For Bae
It may be cliché, but who doesn’t love going to see a good movie? Take your Bae to see a movie. It doesn’t matter what kind of movie you’re into; there are a ton of awesome movies out for Valentine’s Day. Scary? Rings. Sci-Fi? The Space Between Us. Sweet? A Dog’s Purpose. Scandalous? Fifty Shades Darker. Suspense? Split.
For BFF
Go on a Galantines Date and treat yourself with a mani-pedi. With so many nail salons in Oxford, there is sure to be one right around the corner. Nail Bar will treat you right with a beverage for the parched pair, Nail shop accommodates large parties for the BFF squad, and New York Nails will give you the best bang for your buck.
For Both
Show some school spirit and take a trip to the Pavilion Tuesday night to root on the Rebs. Our Men’s Basketball team will be taking on LSU at 8 p.m. Come early to get a good seat and stay late to cheer on the Rebs. While you’re there, get you and your date Canes or Steak and Shake!
For Bae
Have a fun night on the town and go to a live show. If you want something posher, get tickets for Murder on the Nile at the Ford Center. This colorful, mysterious play will leave you and your date in awe. For something more contemporary, stop by Proud Larry’s for And The Echo, an electronic pop musical duo.
For BFF
Get a buddy or two together and load them up at the Gun Range. There are two gun ranges in Layette County and plenty of soundproof earmuffs to go around. Hunter’s Hollow has an indoor range, and TGC Outdoors has an outdoor range, making each choice unique and booming.
For Both
When all else fails, the Square will always be there for you. Take anyone and everyone you know and lets all down a cold one. Lucky for you the bars and Valentine’s Day have come together, on a Tuesday, giving you some awesome happy hour deals. Here are a few of them:
Locals: Tini-Tuesday 5-dollar martinis
Levee: 1-dollar tacos, 3-dollar margaritas, and 1-dollar drafts

For Bae
Get your game on and strike out with some bowling at Premier Lanes in Oxford. There is more to Premier Lanes than you may think. With bowling, a laser maze, arcade games and a full bar, it is hard not to have fun here. Put some competition into your Valentine’s date and have a ball by bowling and arcading.
For BFF
Put a dent in your wallet and do a little retail therapy. Shopping with the BFFs can put anyone in a good mood. With all of the new developments in Oxford, our shopping scene has grown tremendously, and so can your closet.
For Both
Ditch the reservations and long waits and skip to the best part of the meal. Dessert. With so many specialty bakeries, ice cream shops and sweet treat stops, there is a place where everyone can agree. Ice cream? Oxford’s got it. Brownies? Yes. Cakes? Plenty. Frozen Yogurt? Oh, yeah. Candy? We’ve got that, too.
There are plenty of opportunities to make this the best Valentine’s Day yet. Grab a friend or significant other and make Feb. 14, 2017, count.
