Fans of 6 ‘n Tubbs are familiar with Dennis Van Oostendorp. He introduced Oxford to New York-style pizza and then brought us bagels, building a fast local following.
Now, Van Oostendorp is introducing ZZagels this Friday, which is (you guessed it) a combination of his pizza and bagels. Who doesn’t love a pizza bagel, right?
Starting this Friday evening, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. in the parking lot of Sherwin Williams and Slackers at 2617 West Oxford Loop, Van Oostendorp will offer an assortment of pizza bagels in custom combinations of two or five. If you can’t make it Friday, the 6 ‘n Tubbs Zzagel trailer will return on Sunday from 3 p.m. until dark in the same location.
As demand grows, so will the toppings offered by 6 ‘n Tubb’s Zzagels.
“I’ll eventually add toppings such as taco, BBQ pork and more as time goes on and as I get feedback,” Van Oostendorp said. “For this weekend, I’ll have pepperoni, sausage, chicken and spicy chicken.”
