Today's Crime Report: A Busy Weekend For Oxford Law Enforcement

Crime ReportOxford police responded to the following calls: Three motorist assists, three 911 hang-ups, 14 disturbing the peace, eight welfare concern, two other agency assist, 10 noise violations, eight improper parking, four malicious mischief, three suspicious vehicle, nine suspicious person, 10 suspicious activities, four civil matter, two animal complaint, seven alarms, three domestic disturbances, 10 fire department assist, two ambulance assists, vehicle burglary, five reported DUI, three larceny, two elderly assists, harassing phone call, three trespassing, two simple assault, recovered property, scam.
Oxford police investigated 18 wrecks, issued 59 traffic citations and made arrests on the following charges:

Lafayette Sheriff’s Department responded to the following incidents: four accidents, simple assault, six alarms, 11 animal complaints, grand larceny, juvenile complaint, 24 service calls, four suspicious activities, welfare concern, scam, three civil matters, possible child abuse, two traffic complaints, two natural cause of deaths, unauthorized use of vehicle, three follow-ups, county fire assistance.

Oxford Fire Department: 
Burned food activated the smoke detector at Canterbury Crest #116.
Someone pulled a fire alarm as a prank at The Connection Bldg. 13.
One person stuck in the elevator at Vaught Hemingway Stadium West Side.
Small grass fire probably caused by cigarette at Hwy. 6 / South Lamar.
Wreck no entrapment at Insight Park / Hathorn round about.
Smoke machine activated a smoke detector at Isom Hall.
Somebody pulled the fire alarm as a prank at The Connection Bldg. 6
The fire alarm was accidentally activated at Baptist Memorial Hospital.
General fire alarm malfunction at Baptist Memorial Hospital.
Small mulch fire in flower bed at The Connection Bldg. 3
Smoke detector malfunction at the Chancellor House hotel #313.
Workers cleaning accidentally activated a fire alarm pull station at Rafter’s Bar and Grill.
General fire alarm malfunction at 906 Murfield.

University Police: 11 vehicle stops, property damage, three suspicious person, six public drunk, four intoxicated person, ambulance needed, three possession of drug paraphernalia, five suspicious vehicle, police needed due to intoxication, disturbance, fake ID, minor in possession, motor vehicle accident with injury.
