Ole Miss softball captured their first SEC championship on Saturday night. Ahead of this weekend’s regional hosted here in Oxford, Rebel’s head coach met the media to discuss his team’s run to a conference title.
We’re not sure who decided to have the grounds crew run during Smith’s interview, but you’ll be able to hear him talk about what this means for the program moving forward. Smith also discussed Kaitlin Lee’s dominance and her availability this weekend after pitching every single inning for Ole Miss in the SEC tournament.
Arizona State (30-20), North Carolina (38-19) and Southern Illinois (33-22) will travel to Oxford this weekend for the regional. The 12th-seeded Rebels will face Southern Illinois on Friday night at 8:30 p.m. on ESPNU.
“The country fell in love with Ole Miss, they fell in love with Ole Miss softball, they fell in love with Kaitlin Lee, and they fell in love with what we’re about.”
