Another day of Ole Miss fall camp is in the books, and the new coordinators on both sides of the ball met the media after practice. DC Wesley McGriff talked about the how his defense is working to match and exceed the speed of the new offense, the importance of depth at key positions and the competition in the secondary.
“We’ve got to coach for depth, everybody that walks through that gate with a uniform on; we’ve got to get them ready to play.”

OC Phil Longo updated Rebel nation on the health of OL Greg Little, WR Van Jefferson, and RB Jordan Wilkins, all of whom shouldn’t miss any extended time. Longo also talked about how the running back group has been the most improved position since spring ball ended, and how the receivers are coming along. Longo explained that QB Shea Patterson is improving each day and they are trying to make sure he knows that he doesn’t have to do too much.
“We’ve got some work to do in the run game. We want to finish blocks better, but as far as playing north and south and playing downhill I like hwere the running backs are.”
