Animal Cruelty, Credit Card Fraud and More in Today's Crime Report
Oxford police responded to the following calls: Four alarms, animal cruelty, auto burglary, careless driving, civil matter, two credit card fraud, five disturbing the peace, six malicious mischief, other agency assist, petit larceny, three suspicious activity, suspicious person, theft, utility call out, two welfare concerns.
Oxford police investigated nine accidents, 25 tickets and made the following arrest:
DUI 1st, Possession of paraphernalia
Possession of paraphernalia
Two public drunk
Public drunk, disorderly conduct
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department responded to the following incidents: Accident, alarm, five auto burglaries, three disturbances, juvenile complaint, two service calls, suspicious activity, three welfare concerns, transports, reckless driving, two civil matters.
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department made two arrests
grand larceny/burglary warrant
touching of a child for lustful purposes
Oxford Fire Department:
07:20 – Residential One – hallway smoke detector malfunction
08:42 – Guyton Hall room 107 – smoke detector malfunction
10:17 – Kappa Delta House room 203 – smoke detector malfunction
14:11 – 2495 Old Taylor Road – ornamental grass and mulch fire
University Police: Seven vehicle stops, three suspicious persons, speeding, assist with traffic, petit larceny, suspicious vehicle.
