DUIs, Suspicious Activity and More in Today's Crime Report

Crime ReportOxford police responded to the following calls: 911 hang up, 14 alarms, two animal complaints, 11 careless driving, two civil matter, four disturbing the peace, discharge of fireworks in city limits, five domestic disturbances, domestic violence, false pretense, harassing phone calls, five improper parking, intent to defraud, two k9 search, malicious mischief, motorist assist, three noise violation, two other agency assist, petit larceny, recovered property, three shoplifting, two simple assault, 21 suspicious activity, four suspicious person, suspicious vehicle, trespassing, 15 welfare concerns.
Oxford police investigated 13 accidents, 59 tickets and made the following arrest:

Lafayette Sheriff’s Department responded to the following incidents: five accidents, simple assault, five alarms, four animal complaints, residential burglary, seven disturbances, two domestic violence, three petit larceny, two harassment, two malicious mischief, 16 service calls, eight suspicious activities, six welfare concerns, scam, transport, trespassing, two information, follow up, four traffic complaints, two reckless driving, two civil matters, two stand by, custody dispute.
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department made three arrests

10/6 – 10:04 – Coulter Hall – general fire alarm – it was reset before FD arrived
10/6 – 10:51 – Rockette’s Store Molly Barr – FD called for medical assistance for 2 subjects passed out in a vehicle
10/6 – 19:17 – 1711 Johnson Ave. – 2nd-floor smoke detector malfunction
10/6 – 20:49 – The Blake – helped resident up that had fallen
10/7 – 09:51 – 832 Hwy. 6 West – wreck with entrapment call – rescue was canceled victim was out of the vehicle
10/7 – 10:52 – Hwy. 7 South around Belk Blvd. – wreck with entrapment
10/7 – 21:17 – University Trails 4204B – unresponsive male
10/9 – 03:23 – 1303 Madison Ave. – general fire alarm malfunction
University Police: Possession of paraphernalia, vehicle stop, aggravated assault, information, accident property damage, malicious mischief.
