Careless Driving, K9 Search and More in Today's Crime Report

Crime ReportOxford police responded to the following calls: Two 911 hangups, seven alarms, four ambulance assist three animal complaints, seven careless driving child restraint violation, three civil matters, 15 disturbing the peace, two domestic disturbance, eight improper parking, joyriding, K9 search, three malicious mischief, eight noise violations, public drunk, scam, shoplifting, two simple assault, 12 suspicious activity, two suspicious vehicles, sic suspicious persons, six theft from motor vehicle, five welfare concerns.
Oxford police investigated 27 accidents, 111 tickets and made the following arrest:

DUI 1st, No Headlights, No Insurance
DUI 1st, Speeding, Possession of Paraphernalia
DUI 1st, Wrong Way on One Way
MIP, Fake ID, No Headlights
No Driver’s License, Possession of Paraphernalia
No Driver’s License, Ran Stop Sign
No Driver’s License, Speeding, No Insurance
Noise Violation
3 Possession of Paraphernalia
6 Public Drunk
Public Drunk, Failure to Comply
Public Drunk, Fake ID
Public Drunk, MIP, and Resisting Arrest
Public Drunk, MIP, False Identifying Information

Lafayette Sheriff’s Department made no arrests
Oxford Fire Department:
10/13 – 13:11 – 100 Longest Road – general fire alarm malfunction
10/13 – 13:51 – New Baptist Hospital – call cancelled
10/13 – 17:51 – Hermitage Gardens – lifted a resident who had fallen on the floor
10/13 – 17:57 – Kappa Delta House – hot curling iron activated a smoke detector
10/13 – 18:47 – Hwy 6 – wreck call cancelled
10/13 – 19:31 – 101 North Thacker Road – wreck – no injuries
10/13 – 19:45 – 642 North 14th Street – smell of gas call – call unfounded there was no smell of natural gas
10/14 – 15:53 – 100 Joel Lane – receptacle shorted out – turned power off to that plugin
10/14 – 21:20 – Phi Kappa Psi house – smoking in room 208 activated the smoke detector
10/14 – 22:53 – Canterbury Crest Apt. 105 – burned food 
10/15 – 02:28 – Hwy. 30 East – wreck with entrapment
10/15 – 11:57 – Kappa Alpha House – room 1 – shower steam activated a smoke detector
University Police: 12 vehicle stops, possession of paraphernalia, trespass, accident property damage, suspicious person, petit larceny, ambulance needed, hit n run, malicious mischief, assist with traffic, simple assault.
