In an email to alumni on Friday morning, University of Mississippi Chancellor Jeffrey Vitter said Ole Miss will appeal the NCAA’s postseason ban for 2018, one of the penalties imposed as part of the five-year investigation that culminated in a final ruling today.
“While we continue to review the full report, we will vigorously appeal the 2018 postseason ban,” Vitter wrote. “The additional postseason ban is excessive and does not take into account the corrective actions that we have made in personnel, structure, policies and processes to address the issues.”
Vitter and Bjork will hold a press conference to discuss the NCAA committee’s findings at 1 p.m. today in the Burns Team Meeting Room in the Manning Center on campus.
