Animal Complaint, Simple Assault, and More in Today's Crime Report
Oxford police responded to the following calls: Alarm, three animal complaint, civil matter, three disturbing the peace, domestic disturbance, three lost property, malicious mischief, noise violation, petit larceny, simple assault, four suspicious activity, two suspicious persons, two suspicious vehicles, welfare concern.
Oxford police investigated 10 accident, 33 tickets and made the following arrest:
two shoplifting
shoplifting, trespassing and three warrants served
trespassing
warrant served-no driver’s license
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department responded to the following incidents: Two accidents, two alarms, two disturbances, three harassment, juvenile complaint, seven service calls, three suspicious activities, two welfare concern, transport, two reckless driving, civil matter.
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department made one arrests

Oxford Fire Department:
12:05 – Townhouse Suites by Marriott – room 308 – shower steam activated the smoke detector
18:14 – North Residential College – cleaning food service prep area activated the smoke detector
18:29 – North Lamar area – 2 medical calls during the parade
21:27 – AOPi house – no alarm present upon arrival
22:53 – Stewart Hall – rooms 532 & 713 smoke detector malfunction
06:41 – Hwy. 7 N & Hwy. 30 – someone reported a truck in the trees – there was no one in the vehicle
University Police: Fire alarm, vehicle stop, accident hit and run, speeding, accident property damage, service call.
