Ole Miss sophomore LHP Ryan Rolison was named as a First Team Preseason All-American by Perfect Game on Tuesday.
Rolison is the lone sophomore and just one of five starters on the First Team list. He is coming off of a Freshman All-America campaign in which he was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team for only allowing the third-fewest runs among stat-eligible SEC hurlers.
In 2017, the southpaw had a 3.06 ERA and an overall 6-3 record, which ranked him 13th in the conference. Rolison kept batters at bay with 64 strikeouts and held opponents to a .242 hitting clip in 61.2 innings of work.
This past summer, Rolison played with the Orleans Firebirds in the Cape Cod League. He led the team with 35 strikeouts in six starts and a 4-0 record with a 1.92 ERA.
Ole Miss opens the 2018 season against Winthrop on Feb. 16 at O-U Stadium/Swayze Field.
