Rebel Soccer Announces Three Additions

On Monday, Ole Miss soccer head coach Matt Mott announced three additions to the Rebel roster in transfer Madisyn Pezzino and freshmen early enrollees Madelyn Houghton and Haleigh Stackpole. All three players have enrolled at Ole Miss for the spring semester and will compete in 2018.
Pezzino comes to Ole Miss after one season at Florida State and will have three seasons of eligibility remaining. Houghton, younger sister of fellow Rebel Alley Houghton, won’t even have to change zip codes after graduating from Lafayette High School in Oxford, while Stackpole comes to the Magnolia State from Overhills High School in Spring Lake, North Carolina.

Madelynn Houghton | Defender/Midfielder | 5-8 | Oxford, Miss. | Lafayette HS
HIGH SCHOOL: A four-time letter winner at Lafayette High School in Oxford, Mississippi, competing through her sophomore season … Named the LHS MVP and Defensive MVP and also received the LHS Coaches Award and Red and Gold Award … Tallied 28 goals and 26 assists as a sophomore for 82 points … Recorded 67 points as a freshman on 18 goals and 31 assists … Garnered the Scholar-Athlete Award since 2013.
CLUB/ODP: Played club with Tupelo FC United 98 … Helped lead the club to state championships in 2012, 2013 and 2015, while also appearing in the state finals in 2011, 2014 and 2016 … Also competed for Birmingham United Soccer Association ECNL … Appeared for 00 Lady Lobos in Collierville, Tennessee in 2016 and 2017, helping the team to a state championship in 2017.
PERSONAL: Full name is Madelynn Danielle Houghton … Born February 22, 2000 … Daughter of Scott and Heather Houghton … Has one sister, Alley, who is also a member of the Rebel soccer team … Played up two years in soccer growing up so she and Alley could play for the same team.
Madisyn Pezzino | Forward | 5-7 | Grand Island, N.Y. | Florida State
2017 (Freshman – Florida State): Appeared in nine matches during her freshman season as both a forward and midfielder … Tallied two goals to net four points for the year … Registered a brace against SEC foe Kentucky, scoring in the 86th and 88th minutes in a 4-0 victory … Helped the Seminoles to three shutouts in her nine matches against UNCG, Kentucky and Boston College … Averaged 29 minutes per game, including a season-high 53 minutes at No. 4 North Carolina in the ACC Tournament Quarterfinals.
HIGH SCHOOL: A six-time letter winner at Grand Island High School in Grand Island, New York … Broke the New York State single season (73) and career (251) records for goals scored … Was named the 2016-17 Gatorade New York Player of the Year … Was named to the First Team All-Niagara Frontier League team four times … Named the NFL Player of the Year three-straight years from 2014-16 … Tabbed the NYS Co-Player of the Year in 2016 … A First Team All-NYS honoree as a senior … was named second team all-state as a junior, landing on the third team as a sophomore.
CLUB/ODP: Played club in the Western New York Flash Academy.
PERSONAL: Full name is Madisyn Elizabeth Pezzino … Born April 5, 1999 … Daughter of Tabitha and Jim Pezzino … Has two brothers, Jimmy and Cameron … Her brother Jimmy competed collegiately in gymnastics at Springfield College (Mass.), while brother Cameron played soccer at Johnson and Wales (R.I.).
Haleigh Stackpole | Midfielder | 5-5 | Ft. Bragg, N.C. | Overhills HS
HIGH SCHOOL: A three-time letter winner at Overhills High School in Spring Lake, N.C. … Was twice named the North Carolina Player of the Week in 2016 … Helped lead her team to a conference tournament championship … Finished her junior season in 2016 with 126 points on 54 goals and 18 assists … As a sophomore, netted 63 goals and dished out 13 assists for 139 points. 
CLUB/ODP: Member of the NC Courage Academy U-19 club … competed for CASL ECNL U-13 through U-17 … Received a Generation Adidas International Select invitation in 2016 … Invited to the Nike National Training Camp in 2015 and 2016 … Was also invited to the ECNL Player Development Program in 2016 … Was tapped for the US Soccer GNT U-14 training camp in 2014 … Finished as a top-5 scorer in ECNL in 2014.
PERSONAL: Full name is Haleigh Kae Stackpole … Born August 4, 2000 … Daughter of Chad and Andrea Stackpole … Has one brother, Christian.
