The No. 4 Ole Miss diamond Rebels clinched the No. 2 seed in the SEC Tournament and will begin play on Wednesday. They will take to the diamond against the winner of the Auburn and Kentucky game.
Ole Miss (42-14, 18-12 SEC) grabbed that seed after defeating Alabama and having the Arkansas Razorbacks dropped the series at Georgia. The Rebels had the head-to-head victory over Arkansas.
The Rebels learned that the Razorbacks lost during the rain delay on Saturday.
“I found out during the break,” Ole Miss head coach Mike Bianco said. “I wasn’t going to look but I figured that we may have to do something with the pitching. So I looked, but I did not tell any body but Clement. Then the umpire came over and said after we had just made our last out and said Georgia did you guys a big favor then the rest of the dugout knew after that.”
This is Ole Miss’ first SEC West tilt since the 2014 season.
