Heavy rain broke out Friday afternoon before the 2018 NCAA Oxford Regional start causing the first day of action to be postponed.

Prior to the first pitch between the No. 3 seed Missouri State and No. 2 seed Tennessee Tech, a severe thunderstorm hit the Oxford area. The storm left behind large amounts of standing water on Swayze Field and in the dugouts.
Officials met and decided to postpone the games.
The regional games begin Saturday with Missouri State and Tennessee Tech taking the field at Noon CT, with Saint Louis and Ole Miss playing at 6 p.m. CT.
Three games will be played Sunday with two elimination games and a winner’s bracket game. Game times are TBD.
The regional championship will now be held Monday, June 4.
