Mississippi MUTTS welcomes man’s best friend Saturday, June 23, for ‘MUTTS at the Marina’ at Rafter’s on the Water in Sardis. The event is scheduled from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Attendees can enjoy corn hole, boat rides and a variety of other activities with furry friends with a $5 donation.
“It’s meant to be enjoyable and relaxing while equally raising awareness [for Mississippi MUTTS],” said Katie Muldoon, founder of Mississippi MUTTS.
She said this time of the year is when many puppies and kitties are looking for their forever homes.
It is encouraged all furry companions be vaccinated and leashed when they come to the event, Muldoon said.
Muldoon started the nonprofit organization to help relieve overcrowding of local animal shelters. Mississippi MUTTS assists in rescue, foster, transport and adoption of animals across the state.
