Oxford Crime Reports for July 6-8, 2018

The following reports were made Friday-Sunday, July 6-8, 2018, by city and county law enforcement agencies. 
Oxford Police Department investigated 12 wrecks, issued 61 tickets and responded to the following calls:
1 911 hang-up
5 alarms
4 ambulance assists
3 animal complaints
5 careless driving complaints
1 civil matter
1 discharging fireworks in city limits
2 disturbing the peace complaints
2 domestic disturbances
1 harassment
1 improper parking
1 joyriding
1 motorist assist
1 other agency assist
3 petty thefts
1 reported DUI
1 reported gunshot
1 residential burglary
1 shoplifting
5 suspicious activities
5 suspicious persons
2 suspicious vehicles
4 vehicle searches
4 welfare checks
OPD made the following arrests:
1 DUI and no driver’s license
1 possession of drug paraphernalia and no insurance
1 possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding
1 possession of drug paraphernalia, suspended driver’s license and failure to yield
1 public drunk
3 for shoplifting
1 trespassing
2 warrants served
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department investigated eight wrecks and the following reports:
5 alarms
5 animal complaints
2 auto burglaries
8 disturbances
1 juvenile complaint
1 malicious mischief
7 suspicious activities
1 welfare concern
5 informational reports
1 traffic complaint
2 reckless driving complaints
7 road obstructions
4 civil matters
4 noise complaints
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department made the following arrests:
1 disorderly conduct and family disturbances
1 out-of-county warrant
1 disorderly conduct and resisting arrest
2 for disorderly conduct and failure to comply
University Police Department investigated four wrecks and the following reports:
1 suspicious person
1 false alarm
2 suspicious vehicles
Oxford Fire Department reports were unavailable this morning
