The wife of a man charged with six counts of molesting a child has been arrested and charged with allegedly knowing about the abuse and failing to report it.
Sherry Westmoreland of Harmontown was arrested Monday and charged with six counts of contributing to the delinquency or neglect of minors and six counts of failing to report sex crimes against a minor.
Westmoreland was taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center where she is being held on a $500,000 bond.
John Westmoreland was arrested last week and charged with six counts of touching a child for lustful purposes. Further investigation into the Westmorelands and help from the victims lead to the additional charges against John and Sherry’s arrest.
“The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department wants to thank the families of the victims for their patience in this matter,” said Chief Investigator Alan Wilburn this morning.
