An Oxford man was arrested Saturday for domestic violence with aggravated assault.
According to reports, at 10:10 a.m. Saturday, July 7, officers with OPD responded to a residence off of Thacker Road report of a domestic disturbance.
After a brief investigation, officers arrested Donald Rutherford, 25, of Oxford and transported him to the Lafayette County Detention Center where he was booked on a $10,000 bond.
In Mississippi, domestic violence becomes a felony charge when the suspect strangles their victim or uses an object to hit the victim.
