The Oxford School District Board of Trustees renewed the contract for Superintendent Brian Harvey Monday, allowing him to continue to lead the district for another four years.

Harvey was officially appointed superintendent in July 2012 after serving as interim superintendent for several months after the death of superintendent Kim Stasny in 2011.
The approved contract runs through June 2022.

There was no comment from the board about the re-appointment that was approved under the general consent agenda during Monday’s regular board meeting.
According to the contract, Harvey’s annual salary is $159,150. The board will evaluate his performance in December of each year.
Harvey began his teaching career in 1995 as a social studies teacher at Oxford Middle School. From 1998 to 2005, he taught history at Oxford High School and was the head coach of the Oxford Chargers baseball team.
In 2005, Harvey became an assistant principal at Oxford High School, and a year later was named principal at Central Elementary – Oxford’s former fifth and sixth grade school. The following year, he became principal of Oxford Middle School. In 2007, he became assistant superintendent until being appointed the interim superintendent in 2011.
