While an abundance of out-of-towners come to the Grove for football gamedays in the fall, visitors say Oxford is also a wonderful place to spend Christmas.
Country Living Magazine named Oxford as one of “America’s 25 Best Small Towns for Christmas” July 30.
The snippet stated Oxonians have a clear understanding of Christmas giving with the town’s Gingerbread Village—a gingerbread town built by locals and located in the Gertrude Castellow Ford Center for the Performing Arts. The village supports local food banks, such as the Oxford Pantry, and encourages attendees to donate non-perishable food items.

In addition to the village, Oxford hosts an Ornament Auction during the Christmas season, which sells original Christmas decorations made by local artists to raise money for the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council.
