Two Men Charged with Stealing 18-Wheeler

James Harmon, left. Ron Griffin, right.

In April, the Oxford Police Department took a report that an 18-wheeler truck was taken from a parking lot near West Jackson Avenue without the owner’s consent.

The owner of the truck was able to locate the truck’s onboard GPS to locate it in Calhoun County. The truck was recovered shortly after with the assistance of the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department.
During the course of the investigation, it was determined that Ron Griffin, 48, of Water Valley and James Harmon, 59, of Paris, were suspects in the truck theft. A warrant was issued for their arrests for felony motor vehicle theft.
On Friday, July 27, Griffin and Harmon turned themselves into the Lafayette County Detention Center where they were both booked on bonds of $2,500 each.
