This evening the Chargers get to take the field against Charleston in their annual Oxford Jamboree at Bobby Holcomb Field. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m.

Oxford has had a good fall camp preparing for the upcoming schedule, according to head coach Chris Cutcliffe.

Cutcliffe told HottyToddy.com he likes to instill confidence in his players during the pregame speech.

“You earn the right to be confident through your preparation,” Cutcliffe said. “A team that has prepared well through the offseason and fall camp practices can play with confidence!”

Next Friday, Oxford opens the regular season versus Warren Central on Aug. 17 in the Red Carpet Bowl at Vicksburg High School.

On Saturday, the ninth grade team will play Grenada.
