Monday mornings are always brighter with a cup of joe. Half the proceeds of every cup of McDonald’s coffee sold on Mondays in August will be donated to Lovepacks.

Lovepacks is a nonprofit in Oxford that sends food home with Oxford and Lafayette County students who may do without on the weekends. Board members Mary Leary and Helen Phillips established Lovepacks in 2010 with the help of Bramlett Elementary school counselor Linda Vaughn.

“We are thrilled to a part of our local McDonald’s program to support a different charity each month,” Leary said in a statement to HottyToddy.com. “Lovepacks has been the recipient McDonald’s generosity for the past several years and we are so grateful. Their donation comes at the perfect time for us, as we are gearing up for another year of helping feed children in need in the Oxford and Lafayette County schools.”

The local nonprofit is partnering with the restaurant chain through “McCafe for a Cause”. Different local nonprofits are chosen every month.
