Oxford Man Charged With Fourth DUI

An Oxford man was arrested last week for allegedly driving under the influence after already having three prior DUI convictions.

According to reports, officers with the Oxford Police Department conducted a traffic stop at about 1:13 a.m. on Aug. 25, on South Lamar Boulevard for careless driving.

The driver, Martin Simmons, 27, was suspected of driving under the influence. It was discovered Simmons had at least three prior DUI convictions.

He was arrested and charged with DUI-fourth, which is a felony, and careless driving. He was taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center where he was booked on a $10,000 bond.
