The Ole Miss Rebels take on the Southern Illinois Salukis at The Vaught Saturday, Sept. 8, with a kickoff slated for 3 p.m.

However, Rebel fans will have to hold their excitement and passion until game day due to the scheduled pep rally for Thursday being canceled because of the inclement weather.

Ole Miss Football tweeted around 11 a.m. Thursday letting fans know that the pep rally was canceled.

The Rebels face scattered thundershowers and 40 percent perspiration, as well as the Salukis this weekend, according to The Weather Channel.
