Cousins Charged After Being Caught on Video Breaking Into Storage Units

The Oxford Police Department arrested two cousins who allegedly broke into several storage units recently.

According to reports, on Oct. 22, an investigator took a report from Your Extra Storage Closet on Highway 6 in regards to several storage units being burglarized. Video footage at the business captured two men entering the front gate in a white Dodge Ram truck on Oct. 19 in the early morning hours.

The men proceeded to break into several storage units and stole multiple items. They were identified by investigators as Joey Williams, 26, of Abbeville, and Michael Williams, 44, from Sardis, who are cousins, according to OPD.

Investigators with the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department, Lafayette County Metro Narcotics and OPD arrested Joey Williams on Oct. 23 and Michael Williams on Oct. 29. They were taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center where they were each booked on a $25,000 bond.
