South Carolina head coach Will Muschamp held his weekly press conference on Tuesday prior to their upcoming game against the Ole Miss Rebels Nov. 3. Muschamp said he hopes to use the potential win to improve their chances at becoming bowl eligible.
The Gamecocks head into Vaught-Hemingway with a 4-3 record and a 3-3 mark in league play after a 27-24 victory against Tennessee.
This weekend, South Carolina faces what Muschcamp calls an “explosive and high-powered offense” that starts with the offensive line and is anchored by left tackle Greg Little, guard Javon Paterson and center Sean Rawlings.
“The left side of that line is as good as we have faced,” Muschamp said. “(Ole Miss senior quarterback) Jordan Ta’amu is a dual-threat quarterback that has a tremendous arm and can hurt a team with his legs. He has completed over 60 percent of his passes and most of them are vertical balls down the field.”
Muschamp also noted Ta’amu’s arsenal of receivers this season, specifically naming junior receiver A.J. Brown.
“He is one of the better receivers in college football,” he said.
Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. on the SEC Network.
