In a press release Monday afternoon, investigators said Flowers’ arrest stemmed from a felony child abuse arrest made last week where 19-year-old Michaela Lay of Oxford was arrested for allegedly exposing a child to a controlled substance.

In the press release, OPD officials stated that “to protect the witness, we will not release further information on the incident.”

Flowers was taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center where he was booked on a $10,000 bond.
