Oxford Intermediate School students raised more than $1,000 and collected canned goods to provide Thanksgiving meals for 31 families in the Oxford community this holiday season.

The OIS Student Advisory Council decided as a reward those OIS students who raised the most money will have the honor of watching their teachers and school leaders kiss a guinea pig, goat or receive a pie-in-face.

The students laughed and cheered as principals and teachers were put to the test during Friday’s pep rally.

This competition is a part of the school’s Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) activities—a proactive approach to establishing the culture needed for all students in a school to achieve social, emotional and academic success.
