Man Charged with Burglarizing Deer Camps

The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department arrested a man Monday for allegedly breaking into deer camp houses and stealing a vehicle.

According to reports, investigators took the burglary reports for the camps on Oct. 24 and after an investigation, a warrant was issued for Alex McDougal, 19.

The stolen vehicle was taken from Tate County and the burglarized camps were located on County Road 225 in Lafayette County.

McDougal was taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center where he was charged by Tate County with grand theft and two counts of commercial burglary by Lafayette County.

He is being held at the detention center awaiting a first-appearance bond hearing.
