Due to the New Year’s Day holiday, most local, state and federal government offices will be closed Tuesday.
Garbage pickup by Oxford Environmental Services and the Lafayette County Solid Waste Department will collect Monday’s routes as usual and Tuesday routes – Jan. 1, 2019 – will be picked up on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019.
Tuesday’s rubbish – leaves, yard debris, et cetera – will also be collected on Wednesday.
Christmas trees can be left at the curb after Christmas on rubbish collection days. Trees should be free of any decorations, lights and tinsel.
All city offices will be closed on Jan. 1. Lafayette County offices will be closed Monday and Tuesday.
Federal offices, including the U.S. Post Office, will be closed Tuesday.
Buses with the Oxford-University Transit System will not run on Tuesday, Jan. 1.
Parking on the Square is free after 5 p.m. until Jan. 1 and all day on Tuesday, Jan. 1.
The Lafayette County & Oxford Public Library will be closed Dec. 29-Jan. 2.
