Lafayette County Under a Wind Advisory; Heavy Rain Expected

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory of Lafayette County until 6 p.m. tonight.

Winds and heavy rain are expected throughout the day with sustained winds around 20-25 mph in some areas and gusts up to 40 mph possible.
Gusty winds can cause tree and branch damage.

Loose outdoor objects may be blown around. The NWS suggests putting away or tying down light furniture, toys and other outdoor items.

High profile vehicles traveling on east or west roadways could experience traveling difficulties.

Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible over north Mississippi.
