The Oxford Police Department arrested a Pontotoc man Sunday for allegedly assaulting someone in Oxford.
On Sunday, OPD officers were notified of an assault that had occurred on East Jackson Avenue next to South 10th Street.
The reported victim was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi and later transferred to Regional One Medical Center in Memphis.
The suspect, identified as Ta Darius McIntosh, 19, turned himself into OPD Sunday afternoon.
No weapons were used in the assault.
McIntosh was charged with aggravated assault and booked into the Lafayette County Detention Center on a $50,000 bond.
