Obit: Celebrating the Life of Bonnie Clay Purvis
Mrs. Bonnie Purvis, 76, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 22, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. The graveside service will be Friday, January 25, at 2 p.m. in Springhill Cemetery with Rev. David Ard officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Waller Funeral Home.
Born in Oxford to the late Ila and Baxter Inmon, Mrs. Purvis was the widow of Mr. James E. Purvis. A retired cosmetologist, she was co-owner of Classique Salon. Mrs. Purvis was a member of North Oxford Baptist Church and enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Houpt.
Survivors include her son, J.B. Purvis and his wife, Anna of Oxford; a brother, Mike Inmon and his wife, Sherri of Oxford; a grandson, Matt Purvis and his wife, Haley of Decatur, Mississippi; a great-granddaughter, Penelope Holladay Purvis and two nieces, Maggie Inmon Foster of Birmingham, Alabama and Mollie Inmon Dellinger of Birmingham, Alabama.
Memorial contributions in Mrs. Purvis’ memory may be made to Springhill Cemetery Fund, 1623 Hwy 334, Oxford, MS 38655.
