Oxford Resident Charged With Robbing Man After Wreck

The Oxford Police Department arrested a man last for allegedly robbing another man after the two were in a vehicle wreck.

According to reports, on Jan. 28, Jamie Carter, 27, of Oxford, was involved in a vehicle crash with another driver. Carter and the other driver got out of their cars to talk about the wreck when Carter allegedly kicked the other driver in the chest and demanded the other driver give Carter all his money for the damages to Carter’s vehicle.

After taking the money, Carter drove off.

On Jan. 30, Carter was arrested and charged with strong-armed robbery.

He was taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center where he was given a $20,000 bond.
