Lafayette County District 1 residents will now vote at the Lafayette County Business Complex.

Lafayette County residents who live in District 1 now have a new voting precinct.

On Monday, the Lafayette County Board of Supervisors approved moving the District 1 voting precinct from the Oxford Park Commission office under the Oxford water tower just southeast of the Square, to the newly constructed Lafayette County Business Complex.

The complex is expected to be completed by the end of the month and is located on County Road 406 that was recently renamed as the F.D. Buddy East Parkway.

Voters in District 1 will cast their votes at the new location starting with the primaries on Aug. 6.

The voting precinct for District 1 had previously been located at the old National Guard Armory but was moved to the OPC office several years ago when the armory was demolished and turned into the Old Armory Pavilion.

Voters living in District 1 will be notified by mail of the location change.
