During the course of the spring semester at the University of Mississippi, journalism students practiced their techniques behind the camera and over the microphone in Assistant Professor Alysia Steele’s podcasting class.
Kerrigan Herret, a student of Steele’s, chose to name her podcast “KillerKast.”
The podcast explores notorious serial killers across the United States along with their victims. In two different episodes, Herret had the opportunity to interview survivors of Ted Bundy and John Wayne Gacy.
As the chilling music sets in, the podcast takes the listener back in time to the nights these survivors escaped their captors and lived to tell the tale.
Episode 3: Room Number Eight
The third episode of KillerKast features special guest Kathy Kleiner. She retells her chilling encounter with notorious serial killer Ted Bundy, but she hasn’t given up hope yet. Kathy is currently working on a book recounting her life story.
Episode 4: The Killer Clown
The fourth and final installment of KillerKast, featuring special guest Patrick Dati, and his experience with John Wayne Gacy.
