Ole Miss Softball Hosts NCAA Tournament Regional Site

The Ole Miss softball team prepares this week for the NCAA Tournament No. 11 overall seed as they host the Oxford Regional which begins Friday.
Ole Miss (37-17, 13-10 SEC) got knocked out of the SEC Tournament on Friday 8-0 by the Kentucky Wildcats. The Rebels finished the regular season in fifth place in conference action—the highest in program history.
Coach Mike Smith leads the Rebels into their fourth straight NCAA tournament appearance.
The Rebels will host No. 2 seed Louisiana (50-4, 25-0 Sun Belt), No. 3 seed Southeast Missouri State (45-16, 17-5 OVC) and No. 4 seed Chattanooga (37-15, 11-7 SoCon). Louisiana and SEMO will open the regional on Friday at 3:30 p.m. CT, with Ole Miss taking on Chattanooga later that night at 6 p.m. CT. Both games Friday will be on ESPN3.
For the third consecutive season, all 13 teams from the SEC received a bid to the NCAA Tournament, with Florida, Alabama, LSU, Tennessee and Kentucky joining Ole Miss as regional hosts.
The winner of the Oxford Regional will move on to face the winner of the Tucson Regional.
