Lafayette Baseball Hopes to Pull Two Wins Against West Jones for 5A State Championship

The Lafayette Commodores head into the second game of the 5A State Championship with West Jones looking to even the series. First pitch is set for 7 p.m.

On Wednesday, the Commodores fell to West Jones 10-1 at Trustmark Park in Jackson.

Lafayette scored its only run in the third inning. The Commodores starter got knocked out of the game in the third inning after allowing nine runs on 10 hits.

The Mustangs scored all 10 runs on 14 hits in the game.

Both teams return to the diamond this evening as Lafayette tries to tie the series at one-game a piece and go for the State crown on Saturday.
