Two Charged With Burglarizing Car at Dollar General

The Oxford Police Department have arrested two men for allegedly breaking into a car parked at the Dollar General on Highway 7 South.

According to OPD, on July 31, officers responded to the Dollar General for a report of a vehicle burglary.

Through the court of the investigation, police determined there were three suspects – Thaddeus Johnson, 29, of Byhalia and Rashard Brown, 25, of Ripley and a third unnamed suspect.

On Aug. 1, the Ripley Police Department arrested and transported the suspects to the Union County Jail. Johnson and Brown were transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center and charged with auto burglary. They were given a bond of $5,000 by a Justice Court Judge.

The third individual is currently being held at the Union County Jail on unrelated charges and had not been formally charged with the burglary as of Thursday afternoon.
