As the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department began to investigate their disappearance, they were led to New Orleans. LCSD confirmed New Orleans Police Department officers located and arrested Thweatt Aug. 12.

The LCSD transported Thweatt back to Oxford Aug. 14. She is charged with one count kidnapping and one count touching a child for lustful purposes. She is currently being held at the Lafayette Detention Center awaiting a hearing before a Circuit Court Judge.

In the June arrest, Thweatt was accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a 15-year-old female. Police arrested her for two counts of sexual battery after investigators confirmed there was sufficient evidence. She faced an $80,000 bond after that arrest.
