On April 18, the Oxford Police Department responded to a report of a careless driver on Highway 7 South.
While conducting the traffic stop, officers found a handgun in the vehicle.
Christopher Jones, 35, of Memphis, was arrested and charged with Possession of a Firearm by a convicted felon.
Jones was taken before a Lafayette County Justice Court judge for his initial bond hearing and issued a $10,000 bond.
