Five-Star Running Back’s Recruitment Enters Final Stage With Ole Miss Involved

David Gabriel-Georges is about a month away from the stretch that will decide his recruitment, and the five-star running back is treating it like the real evaluation window.

No spring tours, no bouncing around the country, no last-minute detours. Just school, development and a clean slate heading into four official visits that will shape his final decision.

The Baylor School star is the No. 13 prospect in the nation and is focused on Georgia, Ohio State, Ole Miss and Tennessee. His visits line up in that order: Ohio State on May 29, Tennessee on June 5, Ole Miss on June 12 and Georgia on June 19. That’s the month that will determine everything.

“I didn’t want to miss work or practice,” Gabriel-Georges told Rivals’ Chad Simmons. “It was better to do all my visits this summer. I have been to all the schools on my list many times, so I know a lot about them. These official visits will give me one more look at them.”

That approach is unusual for a player of his profile, but it hasn’t slowed the communication. He’s still talking with all four programs regularly.

“I’m making sure to talk to the schools a lot,” he said. “Building relationships and getting a feel for how they would coach me. They all text me and call me every week, so we still have good communication.”

Depending on who you ask, Ohio State or Tennessee holds a slight edge heading into the visits. Gabriel-Georges isn’t tipping his hand.

“I’ll figure it out on the official visits,” he said. “I want my family to see every school. How I’m going to live there, the people — that’s important. All four schools have my attention, and the official visits will be very big for me and my family.”

Ole Miss is very much in the fight, and the Rebels have a few built-in advantages. They’ve recruited Baylor well, signing running back Shekai Mills-Knight in 2025, and Gabriel-Georges has leaned on that familiarity.

“Being around players I know helps Ole Miss a lot,” he said. “I know guys there, especially Shekai. He made me better at Baylor and we work well together.

“I also like the environment. When I went to practice, they were always competing. They play fast, and I liked that.”

There’s also the quarterback factor. His teammate, Ole Miss commit Keegan Croucher, has been vocal about trying to bring Gabriel-Georges with him to Oxford. Peer recruiting matters, especially when it comes from someone you trust and play with every day. Croucher has made it clear he wants his running back in the same backfield at the next level.

So the stage is set. Four visits. Four contenders. And a five-star who has kept things quiet all spring now heading into the month that will decide everything.
