Ole Miss sophomore Laquon Treadwell caught a pass from quarterback Bo Wallace and headed towards the end zone to score, but a tackle by two Auburn defenders caught him in a bad spot as Treadwell was in instant pain from a fractured leg.
In the process of Treadwell going for the end zone to give the Rebels the lead, he began to fumble the ball at the 1-yard line. The call on the field was a touchdown to put the Rebels ahead, but when the play was reviewed, it showed the ball was out of Treadwell’s control and recovered by Auburn.
Treadwell had been a key receiver on the night and for the season.
