Rebels Drop Close Conference Road Game to Georgia

The Ole Miss Rebels dropped a tightly contested 69-64 game Tuesday night on the road in Athens. Ole Miss is now 11-7 on the year and 2-3 in conference play.

Stefan Moody was on fire in Stegeman Coliseum, scoring 26 points in the game, but the Rebels could not figure out how to get past the Bulldogs in the second half.

At the end of the first 20 minutes of play, Ole Miss had a 31-25 advantage over Georgia after outplaying them in the half with fierce defensive rebounding and knocking down free throws.

In the second half, the Bulldogs defended their home floor, outscoring Ole Miss 44-33 in the half. In the final minute of the game, Georgia’s guard Charles Mann knocked down two free throws securing the win.

Ole Miss hit 12 of 14 from the line for 86 percent. From the field, the Rebels shot 46 percent in the game.

Up next is a matchup against the Florida Gators on Saturday inside the confines of Tad Smith Coliseum.
