The U.S. track and field team continues to rack up medals in Rio. Defending Olympic champion and former Ole Miss star Brittney Reese won silver Wednesday in the long jump.

Reese jumped 7.15 (23 feet, 5 inches), just short of the gold medal.

Reese is a 2004 graduate of Gulfport High School, where she became the state champion in the long jump and triple jump. It’s the first time American athletes finished first and second in the event in Olympic history.

Tianna Bartoletta captured the gold medal.
