SEC Power Rankings: Final Ranking for 2016

SEC Power RankingsThe Golden Egg Returns to Starkville.

The 2016 Ole Miss Football Season ended in an utter and complete disaster Saturday night as MSU’s 35 point blowout was the largest victory by the Bulldogs over the Rebs in “100” years. Yes, you heard that correctly, 100 years ago when the Bulldogs defeated Ole Miss 36-0 in Tupelo. This was also our 12th and greatest loss in the series ever in Oxford as the first 11 L’s averaged a 10 point margin of defeat here.

The Ole Miss football program must now do some serious soul searching starting with the coaching staff; analyzing the level of talent being recruited; as well as the relationship with alums and fans as to open lines of communication, at all times. One of the more pertinent questions being pondered is how could a team that dominated the 2016 Sugar Bowl fall this far, this fast? The embarrassment that resulted in the final eight quarters of this season (with no bowl forthcoming) will certainly impact recruiting while placing a large, dark cloud over the 2017 season. And let’s not forget, this team was a Preseason Top Ten pick nationally!

Now for the final Power Rankings of the 2016 season.
