Northwest's Janesha Johnson Named MACJC Player of the Week

For the first time in her solid two-year career with Northwest, sophomore guard Janesha Johnson has been named the MACJC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.

Johnson is the first Lady Ranger to earn the weekly conference award this season and has helped Northwest to a 6-2 start.
Johnson averaged 19.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in a 1-1 week at Mineral Area College’s Holiday Inn Classic, scoring 22 in a 75-63 win over MAC and 17 in a 99-87 loss to Jefferson College.
The former Oxford High School standout has scored in double figures now in seven of eight games and leads the Lady Rangers with 17 points per game.
Northwest will return to action on Tuesday, Jan. 10 at Arkansas Baptist.
